We heard of Jaimie Oliver in the past, the British Chef who came to America. He started to re-think kid’s diet amid a critical rise in diabetes among children. The matter is of utmost importance as this generation is likely to have a shorter lifespan than their own parents!
In the same fashion, Kate Adamick and Andrea Martin are criss-crossing the country and teaching school chefs how to cook food from scratch, instead of frying or reheating processed food. Currently, they are in Colorado giving away culinary training to the cooks who feed our country’s kids every single day. One insights sticks out to me: children would like to eat healthier, more nutritious food. It’s the adults who think kids won’t eat anything unless it comes fried or smothered in tomato sauce.
Jelaia is at the forefront of better nutrition. We make deserts full of natural fruit juice, that are sure to please children. Now we just have to convince mothers and fathers that there are healthier options available to them.
